Alishiri: two complaints by foreign investors against executive organs investigated by the National Investment Headquarters
The sixth session of the National Investment Headquarters was held with the attendance of Mr. Behrouz Alishiri the Vice Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance and the representatives from Ministries of Industries and Mines, Agricultural Jihad, Cooperatives, Labor and Social Affairs, and Environment at the Organization for Investment, Economic & Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI) in order to look into the complaints filed by Anahita Polour Co. and Razi Petrochemicals Co.


According to the Public Relations Department of (OIETAI), Mr. Alishiri said: "in the meeting we discussed the problems faced by two foreign investor companies and it was decided that their problems would be resolved in cooperation with the executive organs of Iran".

Mr. Alishiri added: “according to Note 2 of Article 7 of the general policies of Article 44 of the Iranian Constitution, an answer should be provided to those who have applied for investment at most within 10 days after an application is made by the respective authorities in charge of issuing licensees.

He went on to say: “if the answer is affirmative, the respective authority is duty bound to inform the applicant of the requited documents and, if needed, the list of the legal costs in writing, and once the documents are received, the authority should embark on issuing permits, licensee or signing a contact with the said applicant”

The Vice Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance reiterated: “all the documents required for the issuance of visa along with the costs and the relevant offices responsible for issuing licensees are available in the “I.R. Iran’s Foreign Investment Manual” which has been put at the disposal of the private sector’s enterprises and the electronic version can be downloaded online by everyone at www.investiniran.ir

The President of the Organization for Investment, Economic & Technical Assistance of Iran added: “ in case the authorities fail to meet the deadline to reply to the application or if the reply is not affirmative and the applicant is not convinced why he/she has received such a reply, he/she may file a petition that will be investigated in the provincial investment headquarters headed by the governor general or by the National Investment Headquarters headed by the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of I.R. Iran.
